ntv – canada’s superstation based in st. john’s, newfoundland canada. ntv (cjon-tv) signed on the air on september 6, 1955 and is newfoundland's only privately held provincial wide television station. it is an english-language independent television station owned by the newfoundland broadcasting company limited. its main studios are located on logy bay road in st. john’s, newfoundland and labrador and our station operates 24 hours a day. ntv airs a number of local news broadcast such as newsday – weekdays at noon, ntv news first edition at 5:30 pm each weekday as well as the ntv evening newshour from 6 – 7 pm each weeknight. the ntv evening newshour is the most watched television newscast in newfoundland and labrador based on recent numeris ratings. the ntv sunday evening newshour is the provinces only live weekend television news broadcast and airs sundays from 6 – 7 pm. ntv produces a number of other local programs as well as carries programming from the ctv television network as well as the global television network.
