University of Embu was established in 1947 as an agricultural training school for pre-service training at certificate level to Kenya African Preliminary Examination (KAPE) students. The objective of the University College is to play a leading role in the development and expansion of the opportunities for higher education and research in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Veterinary Medicine, Forestry, Water and Biological and Physical sciences. The College will develop into a centre of excellence for learning and research in agriculture and farming systems within and outside Kenya.
